PhD Position on Lung Models: A PhD position is available for a project titled “3D In vitro lung models: Simulating the breathing effect thanks to a multifunctional bioreactor”. This research will be conducted jointly at CIC biomaGUNE and Leartiker under the supervision of Dr. Dorleta Jimenez de Aberasturi and Dr. Ane Miren Zaldua. Description For 2024 Scholarship on Lung Models, CIC biomaGUNE
The successful candidate will be involved in the fabrication of 3D in vitro lung models. This includes:
- Manufacturing fully functional tissues using hybrid photocurable bioresins combined with bioprinting techniques.
- Designing and developing a bioreactor to simulate breathing motions and forces experienced by cells.
- Defining mechanical stimulation protocols and monitoring tissue growth.
- Conducting mechanoadaptative cell marker studies to achieve realistic 3D models.
- Validating the 3D models as drug testing platforms.
