The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has announced its JAMB cut-off mark and departmental cut-off marks for all courses for the 2024/2025 academic session. Here’s all you need to know about UNILAG’s cut-off marks and the admission process for the upcoming academic year.

Understanding UNILAG Cut-Off Mark

The cut-off mark is the minimum score required for admission into the University of Lagos. It serves as a benchmark to determine eligibility for admission. For the 2024/2025 session, UNILAG has yet to release the final cut-off mark, but it is expected to be around the same range as previous years.

UNILAG Admission Cut-Off Mark for 2024/2025 Session

UNILAG has set the minimum UTME score required for admission at 200 and above for the 2024/2025 academic year. This means that candidates who scored 200 and higher in the 2024 UTME are eligible to apply for UNILAG’s Post-UTME screening.

In addition to the minimum UTME score, UNILAG also considers departmental cut-off marks for admission. Here are some important points to note:

  1. A score lower than 200 in JAMB renders a candidate ineligible for admission.
  2. JAMB score alone is not sufficient for admission to UNILAG.
  3. Candidates aiming for courses with higher relevance must aim for higher scores to increase their chances of admission.
  4. UNILAG admission cut-off falls under two categories: Merit and Catchment Areas.

Breakdown of UNILAG Cut Off 2024/2025

The UNILAG cut-off is determined based on three factors:

  1. O-level Subjects: Candidates must possess five (5) credit passes in relevant O’level subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, in one sitting.
  2. Minimum UTME Score: Candidates must score a minimum of 200 in the JAMB examination. Anything less disqualifies the candidate.
  3. Post-UTME Examinations: UNILAG conducts post-UTME examinations to determine the final cut-off for each course. The post-UTME is graded from 1-30, with a score of 15 and above considered safe. The final cut-off is calculated with 50% from JAMB, 30% from Post-UTME, and the remaining percentage from O’level results.

Understanding UNILAG’s cut-off marks and the admission process is crucial for aspiring students. By familiarizing yourself with the requirements and planning accordingly, you can increase your chances of securing admission into the University of Lagos for the 2024/2025 academic session.
