Honjo International Scholarship 2025 For International Students:

International students pursuing master’s or doctorate degrees at Japanese graduate schools are the target audience for this scholarship program. Financial assistance is provided by the scholarship to students across all study subjects and nationalities. Financial Benefits:

  • ¥230,000 per month for 1-2 year degrees
  • ¥210,000 per month for 3 year degrees
  • ¥180,000 per month for 4-5 year degrees

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must fulfill each of the following requirements in order to be eligible for this scholarship:

  • Non-Japanese Citizenship: The candidate cannot be a citizen of Japan.
  • Enrollment in a Japanese Graduate School: Beginning in January 2025, the applicant must be enrolled or submit an application to a Japanese graduate school.
  • Enrollment in Professional Graduate Schools (with an Exception): Applicants are normally not accepted into professional graduate schools, but those who are able to submit a research plan are taken into consideration.
  • Minimum Enrollment Duration: More than 12 months must pass between enrollment and graduation.
  • Age Requirement: Candidates for the PhD program must be under 35 when the PhD course begins, and candidates for the master’s program must be under 30 when the master’s course begins.
  • Prospective Career Goals: The candidate must be fervently committed to serving their nation of origin.
  • International Friendship and Goodwill: The candidate must be willing to join the alumni network, engage in foundation events, and recognize the value of international friendship.
  • Proficiency in Japanese Language: The candidate must be able to carry on a basic conversation in Japanese. The language of the interviews will be Japanese.

  • Document Upload: Include a two-minute video describing your study together with the necessary documentation.
  • Application Number: Upon submission, a PDF copy of your application and an application number will be sent to you.Verify that you meet the requirements for eligibility.
