Merit Scholarships for International Students

International students can apply for merit-based scholarships from FDU depending on their academic standing. These scholarships are given out at the time of acceptance and, under certain circumstances, may be renewed yearly.

  • Scholarship for International Students at FDU: Up to $24,000 year, renewable for a maximum of 4 years. It is awarded on the basis of academic merit; SAT or ACT results are not necessary.
  • Global Housing Grant: available to students residing on the Metropolitan campus, $3,000 annually, renewable for a maximum of two years. The criteria for awarding this grant are extracurricular activity, financial necessity, and academic merit.
  • FDU Family Grant: $1,500 annually for households with two or more dependent children enrolled in FDU at the same time. For undergraduates, the award is renewable for a maximum of four years.
  • Grant for offspring of Alumni: $1,500 annually for dependant offspring of former students at FDU. Undergraduates may renew this award for a maximum of four years.

Athletic Scholarships

  • Students who compete in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and have exceptional athletic skill are eligible to apply for athletic scholarships from FDU. Subject to Division I rules and regulations, these scholarships are only accessible at the Metropolitan campus and cover up to the full cost of tuition and lodging.

Transfer Student Scholarships

Scholarships are also available to international transfer students at FDU.

  • Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship: Given to transfer students who are members of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK) in recognition of their academic distinction. The duration of this scholarship is two years, renewable.

  • In order to be eligible for any of these scholarships, students need to apply for admission to FDU in its entirety. Scholarships are given out at the time of admission and are not refunded after they are. Scholarships can also be renewed as long as the recipient maintains full-time enrollment, a strong GPA, and good standing at FDU.

Application Process:

The admissions policy at FDU is rolling for overseas students. Please give the application processing three to four weeks. All test results and application materials can be emailed to [email protected] or scanned and uploaded to the FDU application portal. Before coming on campus, accepted students need to turn in official documentation in sealed envelopes.
