Financial Benefits:
Full-time master’s degree programs in approved English-taught programs lasting one or two years are supported by the Pioneering Women in STEM scholarship. The scholarship includes the following:
- Complete Coverage of Tuition Fees: At the beginning of each semester, SI pays the university directly for the tuition.
- Travel Grant: A one-time grant of SEK 15,000 intended to help students who do not currently reside in Sweden with their travel costs.
- Throughout the study time, a monthly stipend of SEK 12,000 will be provided to cover living expenses.
- Professional networking: For networking and career advancement, members can join the SI Network for Future Global Professionals (NFGP).
- Alumni Membership: Recipients of the scholarship become members of the SI Alumni Network upon completion, providing access to ongoing networking and professional development opportunities.
Eligibility Criteria:
The Pioneering Women in STEM scholarship requires that you:
- Citizens of Bangladesh, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Nigeria, the Philippines, Rwanda, South Africa, Thailand, or Vietnam are eligible.
- Apply to specific STEM master’s degree programs.
- Fill out the University Admissions application and make sure you meet all the prerequisites.
- Not hold a degree from a Swedish university or a SI scholarship in the past.
- Not have lived in Sweden for longer than two years prior to submitting an application.
Application Process:
- Select an Eligible Master’s Program: Only specific master’s programs are eligible for the award. Here is a complete list of programs that qualify.
- Use University Admissions to apply: Between October 15, 2024, and January 15, 2025, submit your application.
- Inform SI: To notify SI of your application, fill out the Pioneering Women in STEM confirmation form.
- Await Alerts: On March 27, 2025, obtain the University Admissions admissions results; on April 24, 2025, obtain the SI scholarship outcomes.
