Documents Required:
- The highest academic qualification’s notarized certificate
- Transcripts of academic work. Translations into Chinese or English that have been notarized must be included with documents written in languages other than Chinese or English.
- Two letters of recommendation
- An outsider Record of Physical Examination
- No certificate of criminal history

Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidates must be in good health and not be Chinese nationals.
- Age and educational criteria for candidates:
- Candidates must be under 35 years old and hold a bachelor’s degree before traveling to China to pursue a master’s degree;
- Candidates must be under 40 years old and hold a master’s degree before traveling to China to pursue a PhD.
- Outstanding academic achievement (75 points or more);
- Possess a good aptitude for conducting scientific research;
- not receiving any further scholarships;
- Candidates must have completed the HSK Level 4 Chinese Proficiency Test within the last two years with a score of 180. Before they can enroll in the major, applicants who have not yet achieved a score of 180 on the HSK Level 5 must complete a year of Chinese language instruction and get a score of 180 on the HSK Level 5.(If the candidate has graduated from a Chinese university with a degree and completed an undergraduate program taught in Chinese, an HSK certificate is not necessary.)
