The Presidential Scholars Program eligibility requirements are as follows:

- Send your official SAT scores (1420–1560) or ACT composite scores (32–35) to the university of your choice. We don’t accept superscores.
Application Process:
From November 1st, 2025, to January 1st, 2025, applications are being accepted. To make sure your application is complete, follow these steps:
Step 1: Apply and Send in Your SAT/ACT Results
- Apply to your preferred University of Nebraska campus to ensure your acceptance is verified.
- Send the university your official SAT or ACT results.
Step 2: Examine the Procedure
- After completing Step 1, visit the Presidential Scholars Application by clicking the link under Step 4.
- Before submitting, make sure you have completed all section of the application.
- To be sure your application is complete, look for a confirmation email.
Step 3: Open the Application Portal and log in.
- With your TrueYou account, you can access the application portal.
- If necessary, create an account on the TrueYou website with your NUID and password.
- Click “LOG IN TO APPLY” after logging in, and then choose “Presidential Scholarship Application” from the “View Programs.”
- After selecting “Apply,” fill out the following application sections:
- Section 1: Individual contact details.
- Section 2: The 350-word essay and specifics of your high school accomplishments.
Essay Prompt: Highlighting Your Greatest Successes
An essential component of the application is the essay. In no more than 350 words, explain:
- Your top two to three accomplishments that highlight your skills, whether they are academic or non-academic.
- How these achievements affected your choice to enroll at the University of Nebraska for college.
- Your interests and ambitions for college after you start your studies.
Step 4: Send in Your Application
- Once all the sections are completed, click “Mark as Complete”.
- Check your email for a confirmation notification after submitting.
- January will see the examination of applications, and February will see the notification of the chosen students.
