The Zeribe Nwosu Foundation (ZNF) is excited to announce the launch of its Annual Essay Competition for 2024. This competition presents a unique platform for Nigerian undergraduate students to voice their personal experiences and collected insights regarding the challenges facing undergraduate education in Nigeria. More importantly, it’s an opportunity for you to propose viable solutions to these challenges.

What’s at Stake?
The competition is not only a chance to showcase your writing skills and critical thinking but also a way to win substantial prizes:

Who Can Enter?
To be eligible for the ZNF Essay Competition, you must meet the following criteria:
- You are currently an undergraduate at any Nigerian university (whether private or public).
- You must not have completed your NYSC by July 15, 2024.
- Only one submission per author is allowed.
- Your essay must adhere to the specified guidelines to be considered.
- Submissions must be made through the designated application form. Unsolicited emails with your essay will not be accepted.
Essay Requirements
Your submission should be a thoughtful and well-structured essay of no more than 2,000 words. The formatting should adhere to the following specifications:
- Font size: 12
- Font type: Arial
- Line spacing: 1.5

Judging Criteria
Each submission will be meticulously reviewed by at least two evaluators. Essays will be scored based on:
- Adherence to essay specifications = 10%
- Organisation and logical flow = 10%
- Clarity in outlining opportunities = 20%
- Clarity in outlining threats = 25%
- Use of concrete examples = 10%
- Grammatical and spelling accuracy = 15%
- Persuasive and coherent conclusions = 10%
Evidence of plagiarism will lead to disqualification. Winning essays may be published on our website and potentially other platforms.
