DAAD Scholarships Bilateral Exchange of Academics 2025-2026 For International Students:
We are pleased to inform that the Federal Ministry of Education and Research will continue to support scientific and academic exchanges between Germany and its partner countries through the German Academic Exchange Program (DAAD). This bilateral exchange program for 2025–2026 aims to strengthen international ties and encourage collaborative research projects. With funding from the Federal Ministry, this program enables university professors and seasoned researchers to conduct research stays at German universities that are either state-run or state-approved. The method emphasizes fair exchanges in both directions, which fosters mutual learning and partnership. Financial Benefits:
Monthly Allowance:
- Lecturers, assistant professors, and assistant teachers make €2,000 a month.
- Teachers: €2,150 a month
Travel Expenses:
- Usually the obligation of the applicant’s nation of origin. Exceptions may be covered by bilateral agreements.
Extra Assistance with Disabilities:
- Subsidies for disability-related costs not otherwise covered are provided by DAAD. Check out the information provided on their website below.
Health Benefits:
- In Germany, compulsory. If you don’t have insurance already, DAAD covers you and takes that amount out of your stipend.
Note:
- This program provides funding for scientific and research exchanges between Germany and partner countries. To ensure equal exchanges in both directions, the bilateral program is executed cautiously.
- Lecture travels and visits to Congress are not funded.
Documents Required:
You must upload the following files in PDF format:
- Completed the online form.
- Whole resume (tabular format, up to three pages).
- List of academic publications (no more than 3 pages).
- Comprehensive proposal for a research study (no more than ten pages) See “Important information for scholarship applicants,” section B, point 2 for further details.
- Timeline of the research visit, including academic contacts and host institutions.
- Informal written confirmation of intellectual cooperation from your host, noting your proposal and guaranteeing a position at the German institute.
- If a paper was not originally written in German or English, provide certified translations and upload them with the original.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The program is designed for university lecturers, scientists, and seasoned scholars.
- You must work at a domestic university or research facility in addition to having a PhD.
Selection Standards:
The main selection criteria are as follows:
- A list of publications and a curriculum vitae should contain your publications and academic achievements, if any.
- A coherent and convincing research project.
