In order to be eligible for the Excellence Scholarship, you must fulfill the following requirements:

  • Status as an International Student: You must be a registered international student at HAW Hamburg. You also need to have finished your prerequisite coursework in a German Studienkolleg or received your higher education entry certificate from outside of Germany.
  • Enrollment Status: To be eligible for a Master’s program at HAW Hamburg, you must have completed at least one semester and two semesters for a Bachelor’s program.
  • Standard Study Period: The standard study period (gemeinse Regelstudienzeit) for your degree program should be within reach for you.
  • Academic Performance: You must consistently achieve academic success with an average grade of at least 2.2.
  • Restrictions on Government financing: No BAföG or other government financing may be awarded to you at the time of application.
