The Hokkaido University MEXT Scholarships 2025 in Japan are now accepting applications. All international students who are citizens of a country with which Japan has diplomatic ties may apply for the University Recommended MEXT Scholarship 2025. Fully funded scholarships from the Japanese government to study for a master’s and doctorate in Japan are available to international students. Hokkaido University does not require the TOEFL or IELTS in order to apply for scholarships.
This program is open to students applying to all 13 Divisions in the following fields: Applied Physics, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental and Resource Engineering, Architecture, and Design. It is not necessary to take the IELTS or TOEFL in order to be eligible for this award. Your university may provide you with an English Proficiency Certificate. Eligibility Criteria:

- To be eligible for a PhD, a candidate must hold a master’s degree.
- Students must have an 80% or a CGPA of 3 on a 4-point scale from their prior degree.
- Candidates have to have been born on April 2, 1989, or later.
