GSTC Germany and India Women in Science and Engineering WISER Scholarship 2025 For International Students:

The Indo-German Science & Technology Centre (IGSTC) launched the Women Involvement in Science and Engineering Research (WISER) program to assist female researchers in Germany and India. This program, which was created in partnership between the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) of the Government of Germany and the Department of Science & Technology (DST) of the Government of India, intends to close the gender gap in STEM fields by enabling female researchers to work together on ongoing R&D&I projects. Women are still underrepresented in STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), despite tremendous advancements in recent years. Women’s advancement in these sectors has historically been hampered by societal hurdles, a lack of resources, and a lack of chances. The WISER initiative aims to rectify this disparity by:

Tenure and Financial Assistance

  • Funding: Covers basic project assistance, including:
  1. Research staff (for Indian researchers).
  2. Consumables and contingency funds.
  3. One short-term visit (up to 1 month) to the host country annually.
  4. Travel and Stay Expenses: Single round-trip airfare, visa fees, medical insurance, and per diem for the research stay.

Maximum Funding:
