The UI admission portal is different from the UI website, which provides general information about the university, its faculties, departments, news, and events.
To access the UI admission portal, you need to have a JAMB registration number and a password. Your password is your surname at first login. You can reset your password if you forget it.
On the UI admission portal, you can find the following information:
- Instructions for the 2024/2025 admission screening exercise
- List of matriculating and non-matriculating subjects
- Admission regulations
- Post UTME exam schedule
- Notification on the 2024/2025 post UTME exercise
- How to print your postcard
How do I Check my UI Admission Status?
- Log into your applicant portal. After you submit your application, you should have received login credentials for the university’s applicant portal. This is where you can track your admission status.
- Check for an admission letter. If you have been admitted, the university will mail you an official acceptance letter and packet. This is the definitive way to know you have been admitted.
- Call the admissions office. You can contact the UI admissions office directly and ask about the status of your application. Have your application information ready to provide.
- Check your email regularly. The admissions office may send you emails with updates on your application or requests for additional materials. Stay on top of communication from the university.
- Check your mail. In some cases the admissions office may mail you an update letter or leave a voicemail with a request or decision.
- Mark your calendar for notification dates. UI posts estimated target dates for admission decisions on its website – make note of these so you know when to check for an update.
Conclusion
To get into the University of Ibadan, there are certain requirements students need to meet. First, students have to take the JAMB exam and get a high enough score. The JAMB score requirements vary by program. Students also need good grades in their secondary school classes to show they are ready for university-level academics.
Some programs at UI have extra requirements too. For example, some departments require students to take departmental entrance exams. Students may also need to show they took certain subjects in secondary school to qualify for their desired program.
