Financial Benefits:
- A monthly payment of up to €930 is available to you.
- A greater monthly stipend of €1,200 may be available to doctoral researchers (limited availability, awarded to 2-3 applicants per round).
- Scholarships are given out for two semesters, or one year, with the option to reapply.
- The grant period may be extended to three years in extraordinary circumstances.

- Candidates for the Bachelor’s or State Examinations: STiNE printout of the current transcript or “Leistungskonto”
- PhD or master’s degree holders: most current transcript of grades for a degree (in German or English)
- Two assessments were provided by doctorate-holding full-time teaching staff members at Universität Hamburg.
Eligibility Criteria:
- You have to be a foreign student, not a citizen of Germany.
- For the majority of programs, you must be enrolled in Universität Hamburg for a minimum of two semesters.
- For students enrolled in two-year Master’s programs and doctoral researchers, one semester
- In Germany, you are not qualified for the federal student loan program.
